Heel heat is the reaction that a heel wrestler generates from the crowds at a live wrestling event. Heel heat manifests itself as booing, derogatory chants and, in some cases, missiles being thrown.

The best example of heel heat is probably Vince McMahon and his children. Vince is regularly interrupted by loud "Asshole!" chants, Shane gets "Shane's a pussy!" chants directed towards him, while Stephanie is branded almost universally as a "Slut!" by the WWE faithful.

Heel heat is not to be confused with 'get out of the arena' heat.
