Halcyon Days was Bodies Without Organs' (also known as BWO) second album, released in 2006 as a follow-up to Prototype. It contained twelve tracks, and four bonus tracks, including the previous album's big hit, Sixteen Tons Of Hardware.
A remixed version, Halcyon Nights followed, containing remixes from the first two albums and the four Halcyon Days' singles. Produced by Alexander Bard and Anders Hansson, familiar names from Army Of Lovers, Vacuum and Alcazar, the habit of tacking on remixes and previous hits is now expected.
Musically, Halcyon Days contains more of the computer-generated synthpop which featured on Prototype, although there seems to be an awful lot more schmaltzy, ballad-type songs on Halcyon Days. Nevertheless, Halcyon Days reached number one in the Swedish album charts, and received a gold award from the Swedish Recording Industry Association.
