An old chestnut goes something like this:

"There are three common words in the English language ending with -gry. Two of them are angry and hungry. What is the third word?"

There's no answer. Several rather uncommon words end with gry, but no other common words do. Gry itself is even an obscure word, as indicated in the Webster 1913 definition below. People have suggested quite a few possible trick answers, most of which depend on unusual interpretations and often variations in the phrasing of the puzzle.

Gry (?), n. [Gr syllable, bit.]

1.

A measure equal to one tenth of a line.

[Obs.]

Locke.

2.

Anything very small, or of little value.
