The fastest mp3 encoder available for Linux, it is LAME, with some parts recoded in assembler. GoGo is short for GOGO-no-coda. It was mostly done by Shigeo at Kyoto University of Japan, there are also versions available for Win32 and many other x86 operating systems. It utilizes MMX, 3dnow!, and SSE.
