The BBS door game version of the Risk board game.

Global War is truely one of the classics. The concept behind it is borrowed from Risk, but GW adapted it to an early digital medium. It was immensely popular on BBSes in the 1990's, and still has a cult following today.

The world map is an ANSI image of the planet, and armies are denoted by color. It's turn based, with turns resetting every night when the data files cycle.

Very popular game on WWIV-based boards for some reason...
