The now disreputed idea that the Earth is at the center of the universe and all revolves around it. Rather complex models of this were constructed in the middle ages.

This view was destroyed during the renaissance, much due to the work of Copernicus and Galileo. It was replaced by the now-accepted heliocentric solar system model.
