In genetics and biotechnology, a library is an unordered collection of clones (cloned DNA from a particular organism) whose relationship to each other can be established by physical mapping.

A genomic library is collection of cloned genes made from a set of randomly generated overlapping DNA fragments that represent the entire genome of an organism.
