A marimba (one of many percussion instruments) that has been hand-made out of rosewood, and has five octaves, which is about as big as they get. Just looking at one sends shivers up my spine; actually playing on one is sheer aesthetic pleasure at its best. The aural bliss of hearing one of these babies sing, of drawing each note out and hearing the absolute pureness of the sound, is one of the things that I live for.
