To put someone under an enchantment, or bewitchment. To dupe, beguile, enrapture, hoodwink, or enthrall. Usually used to refer to a long-term enchantment, often magical in nature, changing the subject's opinions or beliefs over a long period of time, similar to hypnotism.

From the French term ensorce, see also sorcery.
