This might be accomplished by rewriting the texts in a more literary or conversational fashion--developing analogies to commonly understood items. Producing anecdotes, metaphors, and illustrations.
Hell, simplification and focus may be called dumbing down, but a single idea, presented well, may be just what the doctor ordered.
