In astrological terms, a planet is in detriment when it is in the opposite sign of the sign it rules. The planet's energies cannot operate at full power and it can be confusing for the person with a planet in detriment. If you are the planet and the sign is someone else's home, you must conform to the rules and regulations of someone else's making and you are uncomfortable.
