defeudalization is the process of converting the process of governance from fiefs who excersize nominal control over their land to a bureaucracy controled central goverment. Along with defeudalization comes the idea of aristocracy of talent, in fact the idea that positions should go to the most competent individuals is a key component in removing a feudal government.
