bridge, a
bid of the same suit an
opponent has bid.
Usually artificial with some conventional meaning, most often
a strong hand, asking partner to make some sort of descriptive bid,
but sometimes showing a stopper in the suit, or, particularly at
low levels, some entirely different, unusual hand (See Michaels cue bid).
