A noun meaning an hysterical fit of rage (or less commonly excitement).

For example:

I have conniptions whenever I hear about a rape.
Animal testing gives me conniptions.
I'm in conniptions for the final act you came here for -- My Plague, Slipknot
Seeing my darling wife leaves me with conniptions. Now would that be rage or excitement?......
