A institutionally approved respite during the work day. Duration usually does not exceed 15 minutes. Meant to be used for the fetching, doctoring, and transportation of coffee to and fro within an office. More commonly used as time to escape the bulding for smoking, nookie, or running very brief errands.

My own experiences in a sedentary office environment, one in which the coffee is always hot, suggest to me that a different sort of coffee break takes place.

Between the hours of nine and ten every workaday morning, a mass exodus occurs from most offices: the ordinary office worker, who has, by this time, consumed one or two cups of coffee, repairs to the restroom. As unmentionable things take place there, an audience observes from a queue.
