This is only a sample of the diversity of intricate mechanisms possesed by cells, fine tuned to do rapid and difficult tasks in a tiny space with thermal or photonic energy (see nanotech, I laugh at nanotech). These complex devices assemble themselves (or each other), can use quantum effects, are stereospecific and very fast. Archaeal versions are even salt or heat ( say, 110°) stable. Most importantly, they have been tuned almost at random and can be reused or shuffled around & recombined as necessary.
