(Also "bungee cable", "bungee cords".)
Elastic cable with a woven fabric covering. Most often seen in one- to three-foot (30-100 cm) lengths with hooks preattached to each end, used for fastening things to other things, e.g. objects to bicycle racks. Occasionally seen in bulk (i.e. sold along with rope and other cordage) and used, again, for various fastening jobs, often by mariners. Still more occasionally used (again, in bulk) in the curious "sport" of bungee jumping.
