Dutch food: it literally means blood sausage, it is the Dutch equivalent of black pudding. It is made of the blood of a cow or a pig.
recipe: Bloedworst with apple
- 4 slices of bloedworst (1cm thick)
- 1 small onion, cut coarse
- 1/2 apple, cut coarse
- a little butter(if necessary, there is plenty of porkfat in the sausage to fry it)
Fry the slices in a pan untill the sausage is crusty and black. Add the onion, fry it till the onion is a little brown. Finally add the apple, but don't fry it too long because you will get apple sauce then. Serve with some bread and cold beer.
