A great multiplayer computer game only for the Mac (made by Ambrosia). Players control a "hector" (which looks like one of those chicken things from Star Wars) and blow up other hectors. It features easy level design (sorta), OK graphics, and can run on everything from a G4 to a Quadra. Oh, did I mention it's free?

Believed by some to be the community where woot! was originally popularized, long before it spread to IRC and became '133t'-ified. Avara is one of the best games to spawn from Ambrosia in addition to Escape Velocity. It is also highly customizable and 3D levels can be created with res-edit and AppleWorks (previously ClarisWorks).
