Believe it or not, there is North American time zone further east (easter?) than Eastern Standard Time. Atlantic Standard Time is four hours behind GMT and is used by the three Canadian maritime provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. If you go even further east, there's still another demi-time zone in Newfoundland.
