Located in Tempe, AZ (southeast of Phoenix), ASU is one of the three major universities in Arizona, the others including the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. Over 50,000 students attend ASU. There are two extended campuses, ASU East and ASU West. Little do people know, due to its failure, the majority of work done on the Mars Pathfinder was accomplished at ASU. ASU's campus is beautiful, with palm trees everywhere.
