In MechWarrior 3 and later games of the series, an "Alpha Strike" is a maneuver in which the 'Mech pilot fires all weapons that are capable of being fired, whether or not those weapons are selected for firing.

If the warrior's aim is true, this can be a surprisingly devastating move, but it should be noted that it generates awful amount of heat - and is, of course, expensive ammo-wise.
