Leader of first group of exiles to return to Jerusalem. Grandson of King Jehoiachin, a direct descendant of King David. He was appointed the first secular governor by Cyrus. While there he organized the rebuilding of the Temple that had been destroyed by King Nebuchandnezzar II in 586B.C.
