Zocalo

Not to mention that the Zocalo is the central meeting place for Mexicans living in the capital, Mexico City. The presidential shout of independence performed annually at midnight September 16th, fills the Zocalo with a million people.

And, not to mention that a zocalo is essentially any central plaza in a Mexican city. Many Mexican cities have an actual place refered to as a zocalo, or an equivalent central plaza that serves as a meeting place for the residents of the given city for purposes of protest, celebration, discussion, etc.
