A Yiddish word with multiple meanings, none of them good. Yideneh is the feminine form of Yid, but while yid (pronounced 'yeed') is a perfectly polite word, yideneh is never a good thing to be called.

Yideneh can be a near synonym for yenta; a gossip, an interfering person, or an uncultivated or shallow person. In this sense it can be applied to either a male or a female.

It can also be a generic derogatory name for an old woman.

It's pronounced YID-eh-nay. See also yenta and yachna.
