A relativly small animal, the size is about 2-3 cm. It has Black with several metallic yellow bands, interupted by black spots. The home of this animal is the upper deck of the tropical rain forest, particulary South America. There is a very common prejudice about the Dendrobatae: Only three of the over 170 species produce a poison, which is really dangerous for man. The Yellow-Banded Posion frog can be kept in a terrarium.
