When she was a little girl, she would scream and cry for, well, as long as it took to wear herself out. By the time she finished, her eyes were red and her face was splotchy like she had a rash. She usually managed to mess up her hair, too. It became a game. She used all that drama to vent her energy about everything. She had an image in her head, as she always had some kind of image, of a princess being held captive. She was beautiful and she had a lover, and she was being kept away from him and all the things she loved.

One day, when she was pitching an expert fit, she looked in the mirror. She didn't look like a princess. She was so ugly that she stopped crying. Ever since then, she's kept her tears secret.
