North Pacific Ocean atoll, about a third of the way from the Northern Mariana Islands to Hawaii.
Supposedly a U.S. Territory, but that claim is disputed by the Marshall Islands.
Administered by the Department of the Interior, it is inhabited by civilian military contractors.
