I've long felt that there were a number of things that, in this modern age, truly needed to be changed to make the Olympics more accessible to the modern audience.
First, and most important, is this. Balls utilized in sports such as basketball, ping pong, etc., should randomly explode during the game, just to keep things interesting. This would likely not be an issue with the football teams from South America.
In light of the Big Brother and Survivor TV shows, which utilize viewer interactivity via the web, one could also have a system where particularly irritating announcers could come to exciting ends at the whim of the viewing audience.
Also, any winter sport which would not conceivably be incorporated in a Dew commercial obviously has no business being on television. Our Justice shall be swift, and our Dew shall be done.
