Tonight,
I find myself
in the dark, like may other nights in the winter.
Alone with my thoughts.
Snow tickles my nose just before my warm tears freeze
the flakes to my cheeks. They become small mirrors of ice into my soul
they’re blank, only reflecting the lamp light back into the night sky.
Through the streetlights, I cannot see the stars. I have to trust that they are there.
Like my dreams.
