In fiction, a narrator who does not provide an accurate depiciton of events to the reader, either through ignorance, delusion, or outright deception. The textbook example is "Haircut" by Ring Lardner, in which a small-town barber recounts a local tragedy to his customer. Though the account may be factually accurate, the reader sees more deeply into the truth of the situation than the one telling the story.
