Snow Crash (the drug version) he made his reputation dealing illegal supplies of
Chill -
freon to you and me - to people unsatisfied with the performance of their environmentally-sound
K12 refrigerant air conditioners.
UKOD stands for Undisputed King of the Ozone Destroyers.
This term is quite useful shorthand for referring to various corporations, despite the technical contradiction of using it more than once...Du Pont, Union Carbide, Kodak, etc. These companies came under fire in Stephenson's other volume Zodiac as (respectively) The Swiss Bastards, The Hindu Killers, The Ones from Buffalo and The Napalm Droids.
