Turgor pressure is the force that pushes against a (plant) cell wall after water is pulled into the cell by osmosis. The cell swells and the wall buckles, similar to those building-block bridge experiments kids always do in fourth grade. The force allows plant stems to be stronger than they would ordinarily be.
