Collection of short stories by fantasy and SF author George R. R. Martin. While Martin recently became very popular with the fantasy novel "A Game of Thrones" and its sequels, some of his older science fiction work is superb.

The stories in "Tuf Voyaging" connect to form the tale of Haviland Tuf, the space trader who acquires an immensely powerful spaceship that allows him to control the ecology of entire planets. The collection starts out whimsical, turns into a fast-paced series of ecological problem-solving stories, and ends on a very serious note, meditating on the effects of absolute power on the protagonist.

The majority of the stories in "Tuf Voyaging" appeared in the magazine Analog between 1978 and 1985. The collection itself was first published in 1987.
