Ton"ka bean` (?). [Cf. F. onca, tonka.] Bot.

The seed of a leguminous tree (Dipteryx odorata), native of Guiana. It has a peculiarly agreeable smell, and is employed in the scenting of snuff. Called also tiononquin bean.
