A three-minute pseudo-hit by Canadian punk band The Diodes. The verses are largely indecipherable ("Is he really saying 'I look like Rick Tocchet'?"), and obscured unnecessarily by keyboards. But the chorus is brilliant and self-sufficient (and sung in phony punk cockney):

I'm tired of waking up tired
(Waking up tired)
Yeah, waking up tired!
I'm tired of waking up tired
(Waking up tired)
Yeah, waking up tired!
Too much time to kill, it's killing me.

The song and the band were given a nod in the Canadian punk mockumentary "Hard Core Logo". The titular band is in a van, travelling to its next show, and a couple of the guys briefly break into a soft chorus of "Tired Of Waking Up Tired". And Grant Hart once said that the Diodes (notable also for their only other pseudo-hit, a cover of "Red Rubber Ball") were one of the "common ground" bands that he and the rest of Husker Du could agree on in the early days.

"Tired Of Waking Up Tired" is Number 653 on CFNY's Top 1002 New Rock Songs of all-time.
