TIME

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity.

This is a favourite of the Spencer family. It was read by Lady Jane Fellowes at the funeral of her sister, Diana, Princess of Wales, on 6 September 1997. Thus was of course the first time most people had heard her quiet voice, and it was movingly similar to Diana's.

The order of service for the funeral stated that the author was unknown. Possibly since it shot to prominence it has been identified: I must check the Web.
