This Be The Verse is a relatively well-known misanthropic poem by Philip Larkin in 1971. It bitterly describes the cycle of generations ("They fuck you up, your mum and dad") before exalting you to remain childless. Not a good poem as such but a powerful one.
Commonly referenced in popular culture and on one occasion being quoted by a British Judge. The poem contains the F-word, making its broadcasting difficult. See They tuck you up, your Mum and Dad. And this be the chorus is another response, that I wanted to share.
