In 1947, William Burkhart and Theodore Kalin (two Harvard University undergrads) designed a computer whose sole function was to solve truth-value logic problems. When they instructed it to evaluate the Liar Paradox, it went into an infinite loop, making "a hell of a racket" (as Kalin put it).
