The Fruit Jar Drinkers was a group formed by Uncle Dave Macon in 1926. Their style was that of ragged harmonies (think Mick Jagger). They were a big hit on the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, Tennessee for years. Their song's include; “Take Me Back to My Old Carolina Home” , “Keep My Skillet Good and Greasy” , and “Chewing Gum.”

Some known band members included; “Grandpappy” George Wilkerson (lead), Claude Lampley, Tommy Leffew, Mazy Todd and Howard Ragsdale.
