A great movie from Bhutan about a group of Tibetan monks living in exile in India. The young monks develop an insatiable desire to watch the World Cup final on television. The film is both funny and fascinating.

The political message about China and Tibet is present but slyly understated, and never interferes with the story.

It came to prominence at the Directors Fortnight in Cannes. Watch for it at your local rep cinema (perhaps listed as Phörpa).
