Released by Irdial Discs in 1997, The Conet Project collects recordings of the suspect numbers stations. These are shortwave radio stations that broadcast strings of numbers, using a one time pad encryption system. They are used by field agents of the various national intelligence agencies for orders. The four CDs contain several hours of droning numbers being read out by men, women, and even children. An 80-page booklet is supplied with essays, transcriptions and contact information.

The Conet Project is a very haunting set of CDs that makes for great ambience while noding or doing other tasks that require your attention. I highly reccomend it!

A documentary is in the works, called Momentum, which Irdial Discs are collaborating with The Discovery Channel on.
