The American Poetry Review defines itself as having "eclectic editing, newsprint-tabloid format, and a circulation of 20,000." Considered one of the greatest bastions of poetry the "APR reaches a worldwide audience six times a year with the poetry and prose of living modern masters, of new poets and critics just arriving on the scene, and of a diverse range of cultures and ethnic groups." It has been around for 28 years. They brag that "the magazine has helped to make poetry a more public art form without compromising the art of poetry."

It may be located on line at: http://www.aprweb.org/ Most poets feel like they've really "made it" when they get published in the journal. It is possible to achieve this high honor if you act like Poetry is a business.
