Probably a representation of the Devil, and certainly that of an evil god, in C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. Worshipped by the Calormenes, Tash was a cruel god with the head of a bird of prey and four clawed arms. At The Last Battle for Narnia, the traitorous Narnians and the invading Calormenes foolishly summoned Tash, not expecting to actually invoke it. Tash hungrily devoured its own followers before being dismissed by the Friends of Narnia in Aslan's Name.

Although the slander spread by Narnia's enemies that Tash and Aslan were one was completely false, Aslan told an honest Calormene that "no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him." When the Calormene told Aslan that he had sought Tash all his days, Aslan responded, "...unless thy desire had been for me thou wouldst not have sought so long and so truly. For all find what they truly seek."
