Korean martial art.

Its name is sometimes translated as "Way of China hand":

Tang Soo Do is considered a soft-hard style of martial arts. It is not as soft as Kung Fu, but not as hard as some forms of karate.

Tang Soo Do works mostly with feet, i.e. uses kicks as opposed to punches typical of traditional Japanese karate. Its use of kicks spread into different styles mostly because of Chuck Norris who was trained in Tang Soo Do.

According to Master C. S. Kim, founder of C. S. Kim Karate College, TSD was banned in Korea because they wanted all Koreans to practice Tae Kwon Do, and survived only because of its popularity in the US.
