(Latin: "to each his own")

Frequently quoted, and variously paraphrased, this Latin bon mot expresses the fundamental concept of "live and let live", or "different strokes for different folks".

Also, the title of a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

Suum Cuique

The rain has spoiled the farmer's day;
Shall sorrow put my books away?
