Actually, a focused session of squiggling can be very therapeutic. When done properly, this practice can become a form of meditation. The relaxation and freeing of one's mind by such a simple activity is conducive to producing alpha waves in the brain. It is these waves which are credited with heightened mental acuity, a sensation of improved well-being, increased productivity, and (some believe) extra-sensory awareness. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
