Maybe your intent was to sound sophisticated, cynical, or maybe you just want to smart off.

The result, however, is far from your intent:

You end up sounding uninformed, ignorant, and prejudiced, whether you are or not.

You make irate those whose religion may not (or who feel their religion does not) fit under your particular disparaging comments. If this means nothing to you (and I'm not saying that you have to consider other people on e2 or anywhere else), consider the node written in response to yours, pointing out your bitterness, and earning you leagues of downvotes to go along with the C! someone (perhaps another bitter anti-religion noder?) had just bestowed upon you.

You get whomped on for noding ambiguous facts, misconceptions, and myths about religion(s) that can be quite embarassing (I guess I should point out that people won't have sympathy for your ego/desire to be witty/smarting off when it is their religion and their beliefs that are being misunderstood/misconstrued). Ignorant noding is offensive--opinionated noding is not.

The point? Go ahead and diss whatever it is you're bitter about--but don't stereotype whatever it is, or assume your experience has brought you an understanding above everyone else's. The moment you rant on religious close-minded delusional people is the moment you get the religious open-minded witty and ready-to-rip-on-you people on your back.
