This is one of the most
important skills to master in order to be obnoxiously
anti-social. It's also a useful ability to have when you simply
don't want to talk to anyone or want to
avoid talking to a specific person (though it seldom works as a
stalker deflector).
It can be done with
varying degrees of intensity. The low intensity end of the spectrum involves
scowling at nothing and perhaps minor
pacing accomplished by
shuffling your feet. The more intense approach is to scowl directly at everyone who passes you and stand
fixed to one spot, preferrably with
arms crossed or employing some other variety of
defensive body language, while the latter works fine on
college campuses, it would be
ill advised in a
biker bar or a
bad neighborhood.
