Stretching from Cloverdale to Petaluma and Sonoma to Bodega Bay, Sonoma County is one of the nicest (and most expensive) places to live in California. It is South of Mendocino County, West of Napa County and Lake County, and North of Marin County. The climate is temperate, which makes for good wine grapes; and it is conveniently close to the ocean, San Francisco, and the Sierra Mountains. The county seat is in Santa Rosa.
